New Microphones for Future Orchestral Sampling Projects
By Jasper Blunk (Performance Samples)
In an intentional effort to elevate engineering & production value moving forward, I’m wrapping up the basic room configuration for future orchestral sampling sessions with a matched pair of 67s I was lucky to come across – three Neumann M150s matched trio for decca tree, two Neumann U67s matched pair for outriggers, two Senken CO-100Ks for an experimental ambient pair (one shown), and three Schoeps MK4vs for LCR violin/str close/section mics. I’m not sure what the next addition is but this is the kit as of now. Ideally, when the time comes, I’ll add these into the Pacific Expansion recordings while also continuing to have the legacy AB/close mics available for continuity sake. — Jasper
